More Information

Iluka’s shares are quoted on ASX. Iluka, headquartered in Western Australia, has a market capitalisation of approximately A$1.5 billion (approximately £600 million).

Iluka is the world’s second largest producer of titanium feedstocks (used predominantly as a pigment in paint, paper and plastics) and the largest producer of zircon, the major use of which is as an opacifier in ceramic glazes.

Iluka is currently constructing a new production facility in the Murray Basin in Victoria and in late 2004 announced the discovery of large new zircon-rich mineral sand deposits in the Eucla Basin of South Australia. These discoveries are understood to be the world’s only primary zircon deposits. These projects should increase Iluka’s already strong position in the zircon market, which is currently supply-constrained.
