More Information

Buka Gold was established in February 2005 by Buka Minerals Pty Limited (then names Buka Minerals Limited) to serve as a publicly listed vehicle for ongoing evaluation and development for ongoing evaluation and development of the Gympie goldfield in south-east Queensland and for corporate activity in the Australian gold sector.

On 10 October 2005, Buka Gold was admitted to the official list of ASX following the successful completion of an A$12 million initial public offering of new shares.  Minsec holds 58.4% of Buka Gold’s issued capital.

It is considered by Buka Gold that the Gympie goldfield is under-explored and remains highly prospective with the activity at Gympie in the renaissance period in Australian gold mining in the 1980’s and 1990’s having been largely directed at lease consolidation and upgrading of infrastructure rather than exploration. Current operations provide the infrastructure and workforce required to bring the goldfield’s prospectivity to account.
